Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-11-04
These terms are an agreement between you and TuckJoy, operated from Bengaluru, India. By creating an account you accept them. If you are a consumer, nothing here takes away rights the law of your country gives you.
1. Who can use TuckJoy
You must be 18 or older. TuckJoy is for adults making something illustrated: families, authors, artists, businesses and professionals. Children do not use TuckJoy themselves.
2. What TuckJoy does
TuckJoy makes illustrated books and pictures with AI: picture books, comics, and pictures for cards, invitations, brochures and more. You provide a name, a few details or your own words and, if you like, photos of a person, a pet or an object, or your own character art. We create a character drawing, a story or the scenes for your words, and illustrations, and deliver them as a flip-book, pictures and PDF files.
3. Buying a book
Your first picture book is free. After that you buy each book you make: you choose its size and pay its price once, before the book is made. A payment is for one book of that size; it has no cash value and can't be transferred. If a book you paid for is never drawn, for example because its story was refused, its payment stays on your account for another book of the same size. The PDF of another free book is bought the same way, for the price of that book's size, and the book is not drawn again for it. Most payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record and seller for your purchase, and handles tax. If you pay in India through Cashfree Payments, TuckJoy is the seller and that company only processes the payment. The payment company's own terms apply to the payment.
4. Your right to cancel
If the book you paid for hasn't been started yet, you can cancel and get a full refund within 14 days of buying. A book you paid for starts as soon as your payment is confirmed, and the PDF of a book already drawn is delivered as soon as you've paid. At checkout you ask for that and acknowledge that, once it has started, you lose any right to cancel or withdraw you may have for that purchase. Details are in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
5. Photos and content you upload
You may only upload photos you have the right to use. If a photo shows a child, you confirm you are their parent or legal guardian, or have that person's permission. You keep all rights in what you upload. You allow us to use it only to make your book, and to check it for safety. We delete uploaded photos as soon as the character drawing is made, except that a photo our safety checks refuse is kept for a short time for our safety team to review (see our Privacy Policy).
6. Acceptable use
TuckJoy never makes sexual or suggestive content or nudity, for anyone, and you won't use it to try. You won't use it for anything illegal or for any content that exploits or endangers children. You won't upload photos of people without the right to do so, or try to get around our safety filters. You are responsible for having the rights to what you put in your book, including the people, characters, names, brands and logos in it. We check every upload and every illustration automatically. Breaking these rules can end your account, and closing it does not by itself entitle you to a refund. Content that may exploit a child is reported to the authorities.
7. Your content is your responsibility
You are responsible for what you ask TuckJoy to make, for what you put in your books, and for what you do with them, including sharing, selling and publishing them. Our safety checks stop a great deal, but no automatic check stops everything: a picture or a story getting through them does not mean we approve of it, or that it is lawful where you use it. Every PDF you download carries an export code, printed on its back cover or in its small print. We record which account made each file, and keep a fingerprint of every picture we draw, so a book or a picture found anywhere can be traced to the account that made it. If content that breaks these terms or the law is traced to your account, we may close the account, and where the law requires it or a child may be at risk, we give that record to the authorities.
8. What you get
Subject to these terms and the law, you may use the books and pictures you make for any personal or commercial purpose, including selling printed books. AI-generated images may not be protected by copyright in some countries, so others may be free to make similar images. If you publish elsewhere, you are the publisher and must follow that platform's rules, including any about AI-generated images.
9. Keeping your books
Books you make while signed in are kept until you delete them or your account, whether or not you paid for them, and so are their print files. Anything made without an account is deleted 24 hours after it was made. Please download the files you want to keep; after deletion they can't be recovered.
10. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep TuckJoy running and your files safe, but we can't promise the service will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email before the change applies.
11. Ending your account
For now, to delete your account you write to us at [email protected] from the address on your account, and we delete it for you within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy. A payment not yet used for a book can't be used once the account is deleted, but deleting it doesn't take away a refund you're owed: within 14 days of paying, you can ask us for that payment's refund (best before you ask us to delete the account), and any refund right your local law gives you still applies. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, TuckJoy is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru have jurisdiction, without taking away any mandatory protection or right to go to your local courts that your country's law gives you as a consumer. Please contact [email protected] first; most problems can be fixed quickly.
