Referral Programme Terms

1. Who can refer

Anyone with a TuckJoy account who has paid for at least one book. A book TuckJoy gave you for free doesn't count. Your referral link and code are in your account.

2. Your friend's discount

Your friend gets 10% off their first paid book, of any size and in any currency, if they follow your link before they sign up or enter your code at checkout. A code entered at checkout replaces one saved earlier. Once they've paid, it can't be changed. It applies only to the first book their account pays for, and can't be combined with another discount or offer unless we say so. The price they pay is shown before they pay. Their book is bought like any other: our Terms of Service and Refund and Cancellation Policy apply to it.

3. Your free book

When your friend's payment is confirmed, we add a free book to your account, the same size as the one they bought:

• Your friend buys The Little Story (10 pages): you get The Little Story free.
• Your friend buys The Storybook (18 pages): you get The Storybook free.
• Your friend buys The Grand Adventure (26 pages): you get The Grand Adventure free.

It is a book like one you paid for, with everything a paid book of that size includes. You get one free book for each friend; their later purchases don't earn more. It shows on your Orders & receipts page, with the day it must be used by.

4. Using your free book

Use it within 12 months of the day we add it. It is used when you make a book of that size; if you have more than one, the one that runs out first is used first. It has no cash value, and it can't be refunded, transferred, sold or swapped for another size. When the 12 months are up, an unused free book expires.

5. If your friend's order is refunded

If your friend's order is refunded or charged back, the free book it earned you is cancelled if you haven't used it yet. A free book you've already used stays yours.

6. Fair use

Referrals are for real people choosing to buy a book. Referring yourself, accounts made to collect rewards, and other misuse don't earn a discount or a free book. Our Referral Fair Use page explains what we treat as misuse and how we check; we add to it as we see new kinds. If we find misuse, we may cancel free books it earned that haven't been used, and stop an account from referring. If you think we got it wrong, write to [email protected].

7. Changes and ending the programme

We may change the discount or the free books, or end the programme. A free book you have already been given stays usable until its use-by day. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you before the change applies.
